Born A Racist - Malaysia

Judging by the title, you know what i'm going to write about.

It's simple. Humans are Homosapians. However due to differences in our genetic structure, we appear differently. This is what gives us our individual uniqueness. Although, on this very planet - we classify ourselves also according to our origins that give us a relatively similar appearance.

in a word
RACE

Since years before even your great grandfather was born, people were racist. Everyone knows about slavery with the "blacks" and the apartheid. In such an advanced stage of human evolution with technology and somewhat borderless travel, it's interesting how Racial intolerance is still rampant.

Malaysia is one of the only country boasting a multiracial society. Not saying that other countries do not have different races, but here in Malaysia it's very apparent. The "whites and the blacks" are generally the minority. The great thing about the multiracial society is the ability to adapt and embrace other cultures.

That said, as reported on a near daily basis - racism is still the tool of division by many. I would say that their "pemikiran kolot". I personally am from a mixed racial marriage with diverse cultures and hence I strongly stand against racism. Take a look at this video that I stumbled upon:

Born A Racist

At the end of it, I stand to my statement - we need to learn from the children and not from the elder generation or even mine. Teach the young and innocent to grow rightly and the future of Malaysia/ mankind will advance further.

Imagine if one day aliens came to earth and wanted peace? Think of Star Trek and its multiracial/ cultural/ planet/ religious acceptance.

B***h I'mma Trip and Kick YOU!

Yes fellow readers, I meant every word right there in the title!

Unless you live in a cocoon, another galaxy or you're an "uninformed oblivious ignorant" person; you would know the REFUGEE situation happening. Basically, there's a Syrian refugee crisis where people are fleeing the country across borders out of desperation due to the current ongoing civil war.

Many countries have started accepting thousands of refugees and efforts are being made to accommodate more. It's really tragic to see the lives of innocent people ruined due to war. Imagine the children who knows nothing about what's happening. They end up being orphaned or even killed.

This person in the video below made me even more upset. I mean, WOMAN YOU'RE A JOURNALIST/ CAMERA WOMAN!!! In my opinion, people working in the news should be unbiased and have neutral grounds when working. When you're done with work, it's up to you. Well, i'll leave it to you guyz to decide.

By the way, the lady was apparently removed from duty (aka fired) by the newscasting station. Let's all be people of empathy and sympathy for other human beings okay?

To change or NOT to change

Change is a word that describes the forever constant and perpetual innovation of a specific item or circumstance. Simply put, change is a process that occurs everyday at any point in time, without people even realizing it's occurrence.

From a baby we change into young learners, mimicking and slowly developing our own cognitive ability. By the time we know it, we're already in the dilemmas of teenage-hood. Scouring for the most beautiful girlfriend and engaging ourselves into activities that would slowly define our permanent character.

Jump forward past college and obtaining the dream career with a scroll that not only honors our parents desire for our lives but also take us on a path away from our comfort zone. We then only really start to realize that change has happened.

We weren't that same toddler in diapers or class monitor. We evolved into a person of contribution to society and one that prolongs mankind's existence by starting our own families with children.

But let us not mistake that despite change being flowery, it may also lead us unto a narrow and dim path where regrets will crop up, pushing us onto the edge of the tallest peak in the vicinity. Contemplating the decision to change our life with death. Interesting isn't it?

We live our lives aiming for the next "A" or 4.0 GPA, pay-rise and the next luxurious holiday, but only the few aim to change their lives from zero to hero. And thus i leave you with this,

What's your CHANGE today?

P.s. Should i change my blog layout? Haha. Have a gr8 day!

Politics, never pretty

I just watched a video on facebook. I am unable to share the video here, but if you are interested to know what I speak of - click here.

DISCLAIMER: I do not endorse any form of politics and am of a personal and unbiased opinion. Please disregard them if you do not feel it is right.

To start, I watched this video as it was being shared all over facebook. I shared one myself! hehe

And to give you an idea of why I chose to share this, here are some user comments who shall stay anonymous.

Now, just as I posted on facebook - i am of the opinion that there are valid reasons and points that the parties involved have raised. I do not agree with their conversational and public speaking methods, but in the heat of the moment I guess we could excuse that (sorta).

In a public forum where people are technically of the right to speak out their mind, I feel that there is some fair amount of time given to the student. I do however am rather disgusted by the way the "speaker lady" cut the student off.

She raises the issue of respecting elders and etc, that make sense, but not in this circumstance. Her tone and speech was in essence to just condemn the poor girl in front of everyone else and to show her superiority of "oh i am the boss here you lil' punk ass". A better means of stopping her would be to explain nicely that she would give another few points for the girl to make then it is her turn.

After cutting her off, we then see the nature of this speaker. She not only criticizes the student for having an opinion. Moreover, making fun of her with hypothetical settings of animals. I mean seriously woman, as you mentioned the student's education level is poor, your intellect is also extremely poor because you compare yourself (humans) to animals. If life were as simple as saying, why can't you be like a dog and sit down when i tell you or etc, then you might as well be a dog and let the dog be a human correct?

You may be reading this and feeling some sort of unhappiness from my writing. The reason being I totally hate it when people claim to be of higher maturity/ intellect/ education/ etc - in front of me, when their actions and words they utter are plain absurd and idiotic.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Instead of leaving a wall of text on this post, I leave it to you to decide. What is your opinion?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mine stands firm, the student needs to take the nations spendings as a whole rather than narrow it down to just the education sector and compare it to other countries. She has to realize many other countries with free education are having taxes of almost 50% for high income earners. It is easy to say charge higher taxes - but for those of low incomes are barely affected and it is very unfair to the rest who work equally as hard in their fields and have to return 50% just for the sake of the nation and others who do not appreciate or acknowledge their hardwork and just condemn the rich.

The speaker should have her brains checked when she asks the student to leave the country from her dissatisfaction. As a born Malaysian she has every right to be upset if she feels that the government is not doing her right. It may not be correct what she says, but there are way better means of tackling such situations. Humiliating people publicly and bragging of your "respect" and so called "educated" nature just shows that you are nothing more than a person who is shallow and really not educated enough. Having a degree or masters only means u are educated in a profession to do a specific task. Not an educated and wise person. Never ever, compare humans with animals because the day you do, you should be treated as one to eat grass like the cows and be kept in cages.

If atheists don't believe in God

Question of the week!

You live life everyday by waking up, performing your daily routine (may it be school, work, or bum), eating meals in between, relaxing yourself and finally snoozing off.

You are so engrossed with prior arrangements that you forget about listening to others around you. You forget to give back a little from the mountain you have. You forget to spend time with the ones you love.

So, how many times in a day do you remember to pray and talk to God? He is always ready to listen.

If you don't share a common faith, you most probably have a belief of your own. If you do believe in a God, ask yourself why this God and why not another? If you don't believe in a God, ask yourself why not?

Let's seek that eternal happiness people as this world will decay and one day cease to exist. Then where do we go?

Suicide: a second chance!

If you thought for one moment that your problems would end by your death, you're wrong. It would just carry on - leaving it with people who care about you.

You may say nobody cares about you; your relationship is down the drain; finances are essentially as good as bankruptcy; you're doing the world a favor by removing your worthless and useless self off from the face of the Earth.

Let me tell you something:

You are worth so much more than that!

Don't let people dictate who you are. They may say you're an idiot, a freak, stupid or even a disappointment. But all in all, the decision is in your hands.

You can make a change, you can make a difference!

Don't be a had been, could have been or any other been been. Be a person that is going to be a someone in the future! Everyone has the right for a better future, a better life - it's just whether they endure the pain and life's crap long enough to see the end of the tunnel.

At the end of the day, if all hope is lost - always remember, no matter what religion you believe in (christianity, muslim, buddha, hindu or etc.), that BIG MAN up there is always ready to hear you out and comfort you.

You probably tell me you have tried but to no avail. It's all about timing my friend. May not be today, tomorrow, the next week, month, year, decade - but so long you hang on and persevere, at the right time and moment, you will reap the rewards and be so ever grateful that on this day you chose a better ending for yourself.

Be smart, make a change, make a difference -
you are more special and worth it than you could ever imagine!

Why parents send their children to school?

I grew up in Malaysia. I like every other Malaysian while growing up wanted to leave Malaysia. But when i grew that little bit older, got a little bit smarter, a little bit wiser

I chose to serve Malaysia for this is where i call home.

The following video is a short clip of where i spend the majority of my life learning about life. As it's mentioned, it ain't just about making grades such as 11A1's or 7 A's in SPM and PMR respectively, or that 4.0 cGpa.

It's a wholistic learning environment where we train both sides of our brain and the higher centers of judgement, innovation and possibly creation.

Enjoy!

Where's your conscience??!

Just reported in the newspaper yesterday was the article above.

If you can't really read it as you are looking at it now, i urge you to click on it to enlarge and digest what happened.

------------------------------------------o~
The gist of it just says,

woman got mugged by snatch-thief on motorcycle --> fell down --> sustained multiple head injuries --> intracranial bleed and fractured skull --> lying on the ground --> 7 passer-bys' did not do anything about it and essentially said "meh" to that --> hours later discovered by others and sent to the hospital --> too late --> post-mortem --> cremated yesterday at 2pm with very upset family...

------------------------------------------o~

So as my title says people, where did all the humanitarianism and little bit of common sense as well as conscience disappeared to?

Far out seriously. My condolences to the loved ones and may the Father receive her in heaven.

What do they mean to you?

It is always a challenge when we as individuals, are required to team up with a collective. Crudely said, forced to accommodate another array of individual(s).

Some people are natural born leaders, while others are slaves to the flow and easily conform to the dominant player. There are those who play in the grey zone and adapt according to the given circumstances.

In all the above, no matter whom / what type of person you or the other individual you are in contact with, there comes the issue of subordination!

What does it mean?
Essentially, it encompasses a variety of moral values or code of ethics.
Amongst them are respect, responsibility, modesty, and selflessness.

What do they mean to you?
That is today's question.

Give it a thought or two. Maybe even three. Sometimes in the reality of give-and-take, some people never reached the level of maturity to understand and comprehend their doings or may be in denial. I quote "Ignorance is bliss".

Many times despite adequate reasoning, especially in the Malaysian setting (uncertain about other countries), most people are kiasu (selfish), arrogant, irresponsible, and demand respect without giving them.

To me, age is not the definition of maturity in any aspect. Regardless of status and position, the role of I am the leader/ your boss/ your senior/ your boot to lick, really boils me up. It's like a scarab crawling from within my skin at my subcutaneous layer!

I urge anyone who reads this to understand one thing only, you may have it all going for you, but never undermine others and give everyone the benefit of doubt before rushing the leap and pulling the trigger. Beware of those shoe shiners and act justly with no personal feelings intertwined to your professional role.

So, do you think you are that mature? Do you think you are "like a bause"/ like the God?

Or can we learn from countries like Australia where although a professor has a double or triple doctorate they still talk to their freshman student like a friend and allow the calling of their first name rather than title/ rank.

Where do you go?

It's amazing... humans have progressed so much over the recent century and yet, we are still the same.

Over the past 2 months i have learnt that in this world, life is unfair. In specific, people are unfair; filled with their own interest with disregard of those they don't call - "my good friend".

More than that, no matter what position one has achieved in life may it be the King, Tan Sri, your boss, your friend or even your family: the level of understanding and maturity may be very poor. Biasness and discrimination will never disappear so long people exist.

The unfortunate thing is that i realized this late.. i always think to give the benefit of doubt and to be kind to everyone. But all i recoeved in return is contrary to my belief. In this cruel world, i realized it's only logical to be selfish and think of oneself. Nobody can ever be satisfied and majority will never appreciate.

This post sounds pessimistic, but i still hang on to the only one who won't ever disappoint me and be unjustly to me. That person is God. No matter what i do at least one person will still encourage me and be there for me. The world may perish but with Him we have eternal life and i guess that's the one thing that keeps me going.

I hope you may share this friend of mine as nothing is impossible for Him.

Difficulty? Hmph!

Why do we choose to make life difficult for ourselves?

Look at the picture above, it really is an easy choice isn't it? - well, depending if you are a girl or guy and what sexual preferences you have.

But seriously! Majority of people always complain about how stressed up with work or studies or social life or God knows what.

Why?

Why??

Why???

It doesn't make sense to me.

Is it because of procrastination?

.. because of others?

.. because of supernatural forces?!

Well, I'm not really sure: depending on the circumstance at least. I mean if so happened I was being chased by a dog and superman came to save me, then I turned up on the news and reporters start to harass me relentlessly followed by the CIA accusing me of being an accomplice to some terrorist bombing... bla bla bla. You get the drift.

At the end of the day, we can make all sorts of excuse in the world or universe; but deep down we know the real reason life becomes difficult for ourselves.

The reason is because of the choices we make that lead to an inevitable position that does not cater to the required purpose of an event.

In laymen's language, it's because of our own doing.

So this week, make the "right" choices not the ones we "like".
