What a night on call

6:56pm Yesterday I went for one of my obstetrics and gynecology on-call and it was rather exciting though tiring. With the mothers in labor, multiple deliveries, newborns crying and families smiling, really wow...

only thing was me sleeping at 3ish 4 and waking by 6something to head back to the wad. And it was well worth. Thank God this morning's wad rounds were fun and i was able to perform well in front of my colleagues and specialist :)

the last one was last year

12:24am wow. this was the longest time that i haven't posted even a word since i began the blog. anyway, reason being been caught up with so many things.

amongst them are

personal life, family life, gaming life, study life, movie life, and lastly, no life.

haha. i like the picture. so, don't worry. i haven't left the cyberspace. nor have i left you guyz without a word. thanks for faithfully checking and sorry too!

in a few words, i'd like to Thank God for being so ever faithful and always being there for me throughout 2010 despite my lacking and sins. Thanks be to Him for blessing me so bountifully from studies to relationships. Truly, I would never make it though without Jesus in my life and I want the world to know how awesome He is. :)

FOOD BLOGS!!!

In due time I shall explain. But before I move any further, I must say that this is not an official BeN'Z review. Reason being the two sites I shall compare today have just sprouted from the earth several days back!

To begin, I'm dedicating this post to these two sites, not because they're

FAR OUT awesome or something. Simply because they were both done by my two friends and it'd be a nice start for them.

These two guys are rather good friends amongst. And the first thing you'd notice comparing both sites is - THEY POST THE SAME STUFF!!!

(almost that is)

I laughed as this doesn't affect me. However, disputes may arise and jeopardize friendship.

I did suggest they both combine to make one OUTSTANDING site. But i guess it's too much of a give and take.

1. Eat Till U Drop

Pros

• He uses a nice template that makes it look yummy! Very much of a child-like idea. This makes the posts a wee bit more interesting!

• The pictures although not professional, illustrates what readers want to see. Pictures of the dishes and the not so necessary but a plus, pictures of the cooks and preparation!

• The use of Malaysian languages ranging from Malay, Chinese, (I didn't see indian); gives a homely feeling like the header "Malaysia's Food Blog".

Cons

• I did say the outlook is good, but somehow I feel the site is messy. Probably insufficient line spacing or the arrangement of sidebar items.

• Although the idea is good, the description does not do justice. He mainly speaks about how the food is worth-while but lacks to mention why it's as such?!

• I didn't like the catch line of TRUST ME! This is a personal opinion of course. No offense in any way. But to me I find myself asking why should I trust him?

Overall - It's a site that may be worth going to if you want to scout places for certain foods.

2. my Tummy n'I

Pros

• The template used is very light and does not flood the readers mind and run the eyes.

• The good camera shots makes the food look very tasty!

• His posts are detailed enough to make you taste that dish at times. But a better focus is the fact he explains about the dish and gives an honest opinion.

• The easy access to an online map to guide viewers to the location is a well thought idea.

Cons

• The layout is very plain and somewhat boring. Although it does make the food and posts stand out. I suppose that's all that matters right?

• At times, I believe there are just too many words. It may be a good thing as well as bad depending how you look at it. But for now, I think it's alright.

• Some pictures would have been great if they were larger. Meanwhile, more pictures may be help too!

Overall - This may be promising for interested food people. But work-up is still required.

All in all, I'm looking forward to this food bash from both parties. To me, I think it's an interesting start. How long it can be maintained on a regular and which one will flourish; only time will tell.

In the meantime, more places for me to indulge my taste-buds that crave for mouth watering food!

Thank goodness I didn't do food blogs or some-sort! Mine goes freelance from where when what how why. Basically whatever I want! haha. It's a whole lot of dedication to do such commercial sites. On the other hand, it does reward faster and better.

2:12am I'm rather annoyed with blogger as similar to yesterday's post, I cannot do anything except type words. I cannot insert links, photos, videos or etc because the bar for that is gone!!! I have seen this image of the girl turning before and never really understood it... Thinking it was a joke that people played to make you look stupid.

Well, that's until today. I thought since it had so much meaning in making her turn (BEING A GENIUS), I should be able to do it ;P

International Medical University

This is the university i'm studying at.

The International Medical University (IMU), KL, Malaysia.

Lots of students do complain about it. From facilities, all the way to facilitators for PBL's (problem based learning). I mean, which university doesn't have students making noise about one thing or the other?!

But, to me, it's a beautiful university. No, not in terms of landscape or architecture as it doesn't even have a patch of grass to sit on, and was supposed to be a shopping complex. To me, it's great because it's one of a kind. Not like other universities I know and hear of. It's really

 "I aM yoU".

Honestly, there are hundreds of things I could write about. Both the negatives and the positives. But let this video below say it all. It's old, "wise" and WTF material.

Improving the site

Since a while ago I've been receiving feedback about the BeN'Z ver 6.09.

Most comments are:

"it's messy"

"it's slow"

etc.

Therefore, if you noticed I made some tweaks to the site.

0. BeN'Z word, BeN'Z tube and Follow me via has been brought up in the sidebar

- for viewers who appreciate the word , works + site

1. BeN'Zine was removed 

- there's an in-site search in the home bar.

2. Google search was removed

- very few users use it so it was redundant for the site.

3. Email post ability removed

- I don't think anyone uses it.

4. Day and Date at bottom of post removed

- Not necessary as it's showed at the top of the post.

5. This may be helpful ad removed

- no readers found it helpful.

6. Ads between posts reduced

- trying to remove more ads between posts but unable to.

7. Thinking of reducing number of posts per page to 5 posts

- please comment if you think it would be better for you readers.

8. BeN'Z suggests + more works in all pages now

- people were wondering why are there empty spaces. now there isn't! :)

9. New BeN'Z event upcomings

- keeps you updated with what happens around BeN'Z life.

10. New BLogGer$ added!

- do check'em out when ya have the time.

Apart from that, minor tweaks shall be done to the site as it grows.

Eventually people recognize.

(Disclaimer: no offence in any way towards anyone below esp. the below pic)

People would recognize when there's terror in the streets; when praises are given for kings, queens, presidents or even actors and actresses not forgetting God of religions. These things happen overnight or over a period ranging from days to years and decades or even centuries. 

BUT, why look so far for this recognition. Eventually people recognize that YOU make a difference in their lives may it be big or small. And I am glad to say that I have been recognized! hehe.

Scenario 1:  By a uni buddy with her own blog. . .

Inner Left: In this drawing, my friend recognizes I love to play the violin (weird bow though).

Outer left: My friend realized from her previous drawing that it was too nerdy for me and I had more style and looks so she made this (I thought it was pretty good)

And so, eventually when you have been recognized, you must show your appreciation to those people.
