A Christmas Carol (3D) - Nuffnang Premiere Screening

I'm certain many of you have seen the trailer, the advertisements or somehow heard about this cartoon film. This show should be worthwhile as it is a Walt Disney Pictures movie (+ Image Movers digital); & from the directors of previous hit movies e.g Back to the Future, Forrest Gump and The Polar Express.

Here's the unofficial official trailer:

A little about the show:
Charles Dickens' timeless tale of an old miser who must face Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet-to-Come as rein-visioned by Robert Zemeckis and staring Jim Carrey. Coming to theaters in Disney 3D and IMAX 3D

I was surfing the Nuffnang advertisers site where I saw this contest to win Premier Screening tickets!

That's right! 3 days before the release date & in 3D!!!

And so, I left a reply!

Now don't you think that entry deserves to win? haha. Let's see what happens. Until then!

BeN'Z word 30/09/09

"When given an option, give NO options. -
The way of a successful Leader"

Short and easy to understand plus grasp! Hope you've been inspired and find it useful =D

Btw, if you didn't know, all BeN'Z words have been thought of out of the box and from many angles + directions. It has undergone much scrutiny before it is set as an official dated BeN'Z word!

Loves Story meets ViVa la Vida!

This music video is just too sweet! Taken from Youtube:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi...Jon Schmidt here. This arrangement is dedicated to Sarah, my 7 year old daughter who loves the song Love Story by Taylor Swift. Because of a common rhythm element between the tunes, I decided I could mish/mash the two. My great friend Steven Sharp Nelson (cello percussion) really makes this tune. (http://stevensharpnelson.com )
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now tell me how may people would do such a thing? Then again, how many people could do that right? So here's the video!

Love story (Taylor Swift) meets Viva La Vida (Coldplay) - Jon Schmidt & Steven Sharp Nelson

Btw, I know it's rather old but I came across it while surfing my channel on Youtube and realized I've never shared it with my readers. Hence, that song goes out to YOU!

Music dilemma..

11:18am Just awoke after a 13 hour sleep. Boy I feel so much better now compared to the 2 hour sleep and 15 hours of being awake. Anyway, I'm in a dilemma regarding what instrument I should focus on. Again and again it comes to me. hehe. The contest is between the piano, guitar and violin. Not drums because I'm pretty alright with that already. The piano just dazzles me away, guitar makes me feel like a Rock Star, whilst the violin is just emotion and sentiment piercing... Help me?

Superstars of dance!

If you haven't heard about it, you definitely should! It's an international dance competition between several countries such as the US of A, Australia, China, India, Russia, Ireland, Argentina and lastly Africa!

There are various categories within the show: solo, group, ...

And these contestants or better said national hero participants bring dance to a new level with their mixture of their nation's tradition and the world of dance!

I caught the week 1 performance for a few, yeah rather late I know! But, here's my favorites that I found amazing!

Firstly, from the solo category. I found her technique was executed to perfection.
Maria Kotchetkova - Ballet

Also, soloist; awarded the number 1 contemporary dancer of Australia - he felt the music and expressed it superbly with technique, flair and amazing expression!
Reed Luplau - Contemporary dance

Next, from the duet category, the group from China! Although they didn't score very high and were eliminated, I believe that people around the world should watch this seeing that it's almost impossible for a normal person to do.
Zhen Zhu Neng & An Nan - Acrobat Ballet

Finally, from team USA, the group category that showed great versatility, comedy, b-boy, hip-hop, break and the streets to the stage!
Groovaloos - Street

Birthday rap!

Birthdays are probably the best day in the entire year for everyone in the world.

This because, no matter what you did or etc. everyone would be real happy around you and not say mean things to you (that said, they shouldn't).

Question...
What only goes up and never comes down?
~Age~

So, today I was facebook-ing and was typing a birthday message to a good friend of mine. As I was in the midst of it, I suddenly came up with a rap for him! This would be my 2nd birthday rap for anyone!

"Happy BIRTHDAY Isaac Check!"

do listen to my birthday rap for him. I assure you, it is pretty rad!
(if you're interested, ask me for the link)

Below: my first birthday rap for Ian Ng.

Shane Dawson - tree boner!

If you're a Youtuber, and even if you may not be, you'd have definitely heard of Shane Dawson.

He is one of the top youtubers which collect massive amounts of views and comments!
(by the 100's of thousands to millions)

His material unlike Fred or Nigahiga (no. 2 & 1 Youtuber), actually makes some sense. The videos he uploads are more towards vLogs (video logs). And I've recently been keen on this idea too. Hopefully it'll work out well for me as it did him =D

Below is an interesting upload by Shane Dawson
"SHANE DAWSON MAKES A PORN!"

Hope you enjoyed the tree boner. And do leave comments if I should start vLogin' - Also, check out my other videos and subscribe!

Fail blog!

Recently if anyone has noticed, I've been in the habit of saying "FailBlog"!

WHAT ABOUT?

Basically,
~imagine someone tells a joke and nobody laughs...
FAILBLOG!!!

~imagine you tried baking a cake and it exploded half way through...
FAILBLOG!!!

~imagine you go over to your boyfriends place for dinner and find him doing his maid...
FAILBLOG!!!

And I got this habit after one of my previous post:

Do enjoy the laughter or should I say sympathize with them and their idiocrasy!

talk about playing your brand new wii with a brand new big screen.
Failblog - Wii fail

and since I'm in the medical line, how could I exclude this ambulance fail???
please improve your healthcare services people!
Failblog - ambulance fail

Just before leaving

1:10pm I actually just woke up a short while ago having slept pretty late last night. I initially wanted to wake up early to get some stuff done and head early to uni. Guess things don't go according to planned. So, just before leaving I'm awaiting a pre-packed lasagna that I worry would take time to bake and eat. Class is at 2pm. And although I believe it'd be really short, it's compulsory...

What makes a good blog?

BeN'Z ver 6.09 has been up for more than 3 months now. Updates are pretty much daily, but I still feel there's something lacking. I begin to ask

"What makes a good blog?"

With daily updates, advertising my posts via Innit and facebook, my average daily unique viewers round to 50 people. And I'm sitting here wondering, what does my site lack that other bloggers have; bringing them minimally 200 people up to 10 - 20,000 unique viewers a day.

For the most of it, I feel that my posts have more meaning, creative & innovative ideas, and is more updated compared to many. Also, with my BeN'Z original youtube videos, I reckoned it was going to be a bigger hit! Yet, those guys who just go on ranting about their life and troubles as well as where they went and came back from, make me look like a noob in blogging.

Hence, as i've mentioned to many, I've been thinking on several methods on how to source-in more viewers!
  1. Advertise more via different blogging sites
  2. Blog hop at least 100 a day!
  3. Start giving out name cards with my site as a reference
  4. More BeN'Z original youtube videos
  5. Place more nudity pics ;P
  6. Start BeN'Zures (BeN'Z video Log)
  7. I just can't think of anything...

And with this, I would like to encourage my fellow viewers to let me know what they would like on BeN'Z ver6.09. Even your own ideas would be great! If you're already a top blogger, a few tips would be awesome!

Cascada Evacuate the dance floor Drum cover!

Yes yes!!! This has been much delayed from the original date of performance. Took the time yesterday to fiddle with the video and do some minor adjustments before uploading it on Youtube!

As some of you may have been anticipating a great performance, I hope not to give you anything less. Hence, cut the chatter and please enjoy:

Malaysian studies?

If you didn't know, I've actually been taking Malaysian studies classes. Truth be told I believed it was a waste of time initially. But, as mentioned in some older post of mine, I think I love it because of the lecturer Mrs. Phoong!

NO SHE"S NOT HOTT!!!

Seriously...

It's just the way she explains things which is like a cartoon character + a stand up comedian with political background. I'd love to elaborate so much more in order for you to understand the excitement I feel when attending those classes (story telling comedy), but you just have to see and listen to that lady yourself!

Now as it is a compulsory class, we had to choose between doing an exam, or a project as our finals in this subject. And obviously for lazy medical students that are already suffering to store fat books that are outdated yet used into their tiny pentium 1 brains,
WE chose PROJECT work!

The food-fair, exhibition, performance, fashion-show event would be on the 29th of October and I am thankful to be the vice-president heading this!

Why?
Because the president is AWESOME at what she does
= less work for me!

The theme for it was decided yesterday, and I believe it revolved around the
ONE MALAYSIA concept.

Flavors/Colors of MALAYSIA!
Note the four colors of the Malaysian flag!

Waiting for time...

10:02am I've been rather busy lately running errands and fulfilling responsibilities. Throughout the week itself, I've and will be playing in the IMU inter-house Pool competition. Outcome uncertain yet but hoping for the best. On a lighter note, I haven't forgotten about the blog. I've got many many MANY!!! videos to post up but hadn't had the time. Hence, the title of this blitter...

Dance crew of WORLD standard (2)

First and foremost, why did I put a bracketed (2)?

This because, it is in reference to my previous entry

I would like to extend my apologies to whomever I've misled and to the crew themselves. I posted them up as a Malaysian dance crew as I was informed they were. But I had just been told, that they're an American dance crew that has won multiple competitions! And true enough, they are after I Googled it!

Here's their video once more,

Again my apologies people. Although I was very psyched they were Malaysians. Still that doesn't mean Malaysia can't be of world standard. I'll be waiting!

代替MV/ Replacement

This is a beautiful song composed by a buddy of mine Yee Hui Juin, Jean! Yeah, by the title I'm certain you know it's a mandarin song. Believe it or not, I felt it's really good. The song has got the tune, the feel, the emotions, & lastly, the meaning!

Hence, let me not take too much of your attention. Here's:

"代替MV/ Replacement."

Snooker flukes

Short & sweet, came across this on youtube and found it interesting and enlightening. Even professionals fluke it out once in a while =D

Btw, I think the song for this and the compilation is just amazing! Cheers to the dude who made it. Snooker flukes!

Melodies of the violin

The violin as i've mentioned in older posts, may just be the most beautiful instrument ever to be made. Enjoyed by people around the world from young to old; from centuries ago; from the asians to the westerners. The sound, the resonance, the stradivarius :P It takes you on a journey that captivates both your mind and your soul...

Below are two videos, both in regards to David Garrett, the fastest violin player in the world! This however, is more about his songs.

One's David's 'Smooth Criminal' - Michael Jackson, played by a very famous Youtuber Ben Chan; the other is 'He's a Pirate' from the movie Pirates of the Caribbean b Mr. Garrett himself.

Do listen to your heart's delight!

Dance crew of WORLD standard!

Dancing is a past-time for many people. They find joy and relaxation as well as satisfaction and a great reward from it. May it be ballroom dancing, belly dancing or right down to the streets of hip-hop and breakdancing!

However, in Malaysia there are only a handful that I've seen perform really well. Sure, the ideas are there in pretty much any dance crew. But, the execution is key to it! Of which many don't have that flair to do so. Either the expression is wrong, or the steps are not synchronized or even simply bad choreography!

Then what about the post? Let me have the honor of introducing to you

"QUEST CREW!!!"

Sure they seem rather gay in the beginning of the video below, but believe me when i say, they are comparable to the likes of America and the rest of the world. Great choreography, breakdancing, b-boy, hip-hop, ballet and near perfect execution! This goes to show, support your local scene as they may just WOW you!

Here as I said!

Firstly, you'd notice the weekend without updates. Why? The usual. Internet troubles. Sorry for that my lovely readers that make this site a hit!

Anyway, as the post title says, here are the pictures I mentioned I would post when I get a hold on'em! Below are pictures of the IMU pool team which went for the MAPCU pool competition!

Above(L2R): Kai, Ignatius, Lydia, Myself, Izyan, Kim.

Above(L2R): Ignatius, Kai, Lydia, Kim, Izyan, Myself

Above(L2R): One of Taylor's Professor handing out the trophy.

Above: Myself taking a shot in one of the rounds. Do I look sharp or what?!

Lastly, I'd like to share with you as the video title suggests:

AMAZING trick shot!

Honestly, you have to watch it. For one, I doubt it's possible to duplicate it perfectly. Also, the man sure put a lot of effort to think of the idea and practice it as to execute it perfectly!

AMAZING huh?!

IMU Darts competition

For those of you who do not know, that's a dart board.

In a gist, the board has numbers 1-20,
where the black areas in that number give you that point,

while the outer colored circle is 2X the points,
the inner colored circle is 3X the points,

and the green part around the bulls-eye is 25,
while the "BIG" red dot in the middle is 50 points!

Wow.. that was a mouth-full!

Contrary to the belief of aiming for the bulls-eye, players would aim for the triple 20 as 3 darts at that would give you the maximum score of 180!!!

And here's a set of darts I happened to find lying around the house.

Looks good huh? It's light too!

Back to the darts competition...
-----------------------------------------------------------
In the competition, my captain Wen Peng had placed me in the males singles category. I actually felt like playing doubles seeing I don't play darts, and if I lost it'd only be half my fault :P

Over the past two days, I had two matches. Of which it was a challenge for me from the beginning as I was battling the sandman to wake up early for the competition! On Wednesday and Thursday, I won both matches & I felt great about it! hehe.

The best thing about it, I had the highest throw in one turn of 140!!! 2X 3X60, and 1X 20.

Although I won my matches in the group stage, we did not make it to the finals because overall my team did not qualify. We won 3-2, and lost 4-1. Making it a total of only 4 wins while the other 2 teams had 5 each.
[Tell you a joke, I thought I only had to win my match. I did not know it would make any difference if I won 2-0 or 2-1. Hence, I was fooling around for my match today. This is something I must work on. To play my best all the time!]

I was disappointed as I thought we would have made it through. Initially, I felt as if my efforts went to waste. But, I felt much better after hearing what my buddy Ignatius mentioned, (rephrased)

"Think about this, it's good that you win and not nice when you don't get through because your teammates did lost. But similarly, if you were the one who lost, while your teammates won and overall you qualified, you'd be happy too!"

Does that make sense to you? It really did to me! =D

Also, I felt real good after hearing what my Malaysian studies lecturer(Mrs Poon) mentioned, but I just can't recall it at the moment.

Well, that's that! I'm happy about the game as I did my team proud and myself! Also, thanks to the team for giving me the opportunity to play. Until the next match!

Pool CRAZE!!!

I suddenly feel the fire of playing pool once again since my loss at the MAPCU pool competition 2 days ago. And I'm fired up!!! Time to get back in shape to how I was many many years ago.

Would love to take part in both pool and snooker national championship next year. Seems like a current feeling that would fade in a week or so, but what matters is it'd be fun! Must be an all rounder right =D

Only thing is, I'm contemplating the use of my personal pool cue versus my snooker cue when playing 8ball or 9ball. Logically, I should play with my pool cue to play pool! However, I used to play really well using my snooker cue. The only con is that I won't be able to get myself out of sticky-situations using trick shots like 'masse', 'curve', 'jump', and etc.

Anyway, while I think about the game, here's a video that I believe even if you don't play pool or snooker, you should watch. This is a world-record!

Did you replay it again? I did. Must learn how to do that...
